Favourite Fall Snacks

So I don't know about you but when it's dark outside and cold. I feel like eating loads, I get weird cravings for food in large amounts. I have found some snacks that keep you full and easy to make when you're craving food!

 TOP 5 HEALTHY SNACKS

1. Crackers! With Hummus!

These could be oat cakes, ryvita, cream crackers, rice cakes or another ones! I live to dip these in hummus. It's a great dip for crackers it contains great omega 3 fatty acids. Helping with intelegence and a healthy heart!  It has loads of vitamins and contains ingredience that can help you to feel happy!

2. Fruit

Sounds like a obvious one but fruit has so many benefits. It has natural sugars that keep you alert. They contain vitamins that keep all your body healthy. Their convenient to snack on, no preparation needed!

3. 0% fat yogurt

Yogurt is a favourite. It has all the pro-biotic goodness! It is creamy and if you get 0% or low fat yogurt it's often under 100 calories for a pot! Tasting like a dessert but healthy? What?... A favourite of mine is 'vitaltiy' read about it here-

4. Granola

So granola, where do I start it is so convenient to poor a cereal in a Tupperware box and take out. Fantastic with yogurt and protien with nuts! Crunchy and addictive it is a sweet but 'give me more' taste.

5. Pretzels

Now wether these are the mini ones or the large ones. Everyone loves a pretzel. It's important because these are more of a treat to not have them to often! They contain a lot of salt but are so yummy! I like the mini ones in mini bags! These are convenient and easy to take away. Also you have clear nutritional values!

How to: Get Abs/six pack

So this is a question I get asked a lot and that I know people wonder about. How do you get abs?

So..

Your abs are the centre piece of you. They keep you up right and keep you steady. If you didn't have abs you wouldn't be able to sit up straight.

It's important to know everyone has abs. Everyone has the muscles, just some are stronger and in result show more.

I think everyone wants those athlete six packs but in theory, their is no reason why you can't!

To build abs you need to loose fat, this is what covers the muscles so you can't see them and then it looks like don't have abs!

Steps to the perfect abs!

Eating clean, this means your changing your diet so that you can build muscle! Even if you want to build abs for appearance reasons it will still help with your posture! If you want to know some super foods for weight loss..http://behealthy2behappy.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/hi-everyone-today-i-dont-have-workout.html

Core work, this involves all the sit ups, crunches, obliques and planks! They are painful, but necessary if you want the killer abs!

If your new to core work then try my 8 day ab challenge, this is based for beginners and eases you in slowly making sure that you can adjust! You can find it here..

A quick challenge that is more advance can be found here..

Burning fat; running burns fat, the most of any exercise! So this is important to make sure you just have muscle! If you don't have the time for a run try this workout at home..

Now YOU CAN GET ABS! That's so important to stress, if your willing to work hard, you will have the body you want! Just remember to work hard and eat clean and you will can achieve!

Good luck on your journey

What to do at the gym

So this is a question that I get asked a lot, what to do at the gym?

Do I do running?

 Do I do weights?

I thought I would start by telling you what I do at the gym..

Warm up..

This involves cardio, I like to either jog for 5 minuets or go on the elliptical.
The time changes depending on how I feel.

Then...

I always like to change it up, I don't like to do the same thing all the time but often I run for about 10 minuets alternating pace.

After..

I go and do weights, now if your a woman and scared of doing weights because your worried you will 'bulk up' don't worry...you won't. Doing weights can help strengthen bones and muscles and can help you looking toned and fantastic!

Shortly after...

I do core, everyone wants abs! I do sit ups for about burst of a minuet with half a minuet rest imbertween. These are great, but they take are a slow burner. To get a sudden burn I recommend crunches!

To finish..

I do a little more cardio. A bit on the bike or elliptical to get my heart going. When I finish this I do some stretches and then I am done!

So if you want to loose weight...

Do cardio. This is a brilliant fat burner! Running I think is the best but elliptical isn't slacking! These are great as an interval training tool for a killer workout. Alternating pace is great because it keeps you entertained and makes your body work so hard! You could always do a steady run for a good workout as well.

If you want to tone up..

Still do cardio but do more emphasis on the weight machines or free weights. These can help you get the muscles you want. Focus on an area that you want toner and then think of an exercise that particularly burns that area..Then, your good to go!

If you want to build endurance..

It depends on the type of endurance, muscle endurance is different to cardiovascular. To build endurance you need to do that activity for a long time so bare that in mind! To mix things up try different types of equiptment! This can help with boredom.

I hope that helps you with what to do at the gym, if your not a gym person..their is so much stuff you can do at home.

Quick and Easy Breakfast

Breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day, it kick starts your metabolism and gives you enough energy to face the day.

I know it is sometimes hard to fit in, you might over sleep or just never have time for it!

That is where I am here to help you. I have found a quick, easy and cheap idea that you can use for breakfast that is healthy and nutritious.

Quaker Oats porridge Pots to go!

These are available from any super market under £1.

When you open the pot, you will need to mix it around. The milk powder often hasn't dissolved. You have milk powder so you can add water and still have creamy porridge!

Once mixed, you should then have some oats that look like this! Now time to boil the kettle!

Once the water is added, it will look a bit in appetising! Fill up to the line in the pot!

But give it a mix for about 15 seconds and it should already be more smooth!

If you have a sweet tooth, like me then you can add a squirt of honey.
Honey is great because its a natural sweetener and is delicious,

Put on the lid for a minuet to allow it too thicken. All instructions are on the back!

Finally, I love to add a banana in the mix or I just eat it on the go.

I love to slice my banana up into bite-size chunks in my porridge.

Also, water is essential. You need to hydrate your body!

Hope you found this useful, good luck everyone!

DRINK AWAY!

"Drinky" yogurts are something that has really been a recent craze. I have always been the type to think a pot and a spoon is a yogurt, but apparently not. After doing some research I found my favorite drinkable yogurt on the market.

This is the Vitality drink, my favorite is vanilla. Strawberry follows closely behind! It has Pro-Biotic goodness and is calcium rich. This comes in a handy take away bottle. The yogurt is smooth (no bits) and deliciously creamy. I have really wanted to get more into yogurts because I know they're so good for you. These yogurts are available from most super markets.

Is 'thinspiration' wrong?

A different post but I hope you still like it...

If you don't know what thinspiration is, well it's a tumblr account that has a display of skinny girls. Not healthy, skinny. This is meant to be inspiration to you, to be 'skinny'.
So this is a quite discussed topic, should tumblr sites be banned that promote un healthy images? This I think, in simple terms. Yes.

When anyone sees images of somebody of a site that is well known. They immediatly think, that's the 'right' way to be. It's not. But who can really blame them? Having an eating disorder is not healthy. I am not qualified as a doctor or anything like that! But I know that having an eating disorder and being stick thin, isn't the healthiest.

Nobody should inspire to be skinny. People should inspire to be healthy! I think a toned body is better than one where somebody is showing their ribs. It's encouraging the idea of, the skinner the better. It's like a competition, the wider you can get your thigh gap, the more you can get your ribs to show.

I believe this is not what we should inspire to be like.

We should just want to be us. But if you do want inspiration. It should be from someone like..

Thank you for reading, if this post just helps one person inspire to be better than the first picture. Then it's a success!

I wish you all the best of luck, you can do this!

I am not trying to offend anyone with this. If you feel you like 'thinspiration' and it works for you, then that's completely fine!

Talk to you all soon!

Quick tip: Motivation

Hey Guys, a tip for you would be if your struggling for motivation and you have been all those tumblr sites. (health ones not skinny ones). It sounds like an obvious tip, but to asses your goals. What do you want to achieve? How long will it take? How are you going to get there? Ask yourself all these questions! Reminding yourself of your goal, wether its a healthy and toned body or just to feel more confident. We all have times when we don't feel like working out.

An example of what you could do might look like this..

Goal: To loose 10lb by the end of November

Time: Until November (3 months)

How: By running 2 days a week. Cycling to work.
Going to Pilates 2 times a week and eating clean.

This can help to keep you on track and refresh your goals.

Review on BLOGILATES app

So 28th of August was the day it would be released to everyone. Already going to the top spot on health & fitness apps, it proves to be popular.

The app is free to download and has a start up page of this..

You have 5 functions, Calender, video, instagram, recipes and shop.

The app is designed very well and is incredibly easy to use. The features are useful and well presented.

Unfortunatly, to access the calender feature (the first icon) you have to pay 99 cent. This is per month and I found this slightly disapointing.

One of my favorite features was the recipes section, all of her "cheap clean eats" were displayed on here. This is great because her recipes is a popular feature of her blog.

Overall this app is a very good idea and it's great to see Blogilates become so popular. This app is only available on the apple app store unfortunately but is said to be coming to android soon!

Training Diary?

Is a training diary really that important? Yes, I think it is. It can keep you motivated seeing how far you've come. It can also help you trace back when injuries started. You can also use it to set targets to become fitter. Here are 3 simple steps to the perfect diary!

1. Find and unused notebook or folder of some sort. Write, training diary over it so you know it can't be used for anything else..

2. When you start an entry, always write the date and time (of when you worked out). This could help to show any patterns and is always useful to know!

3. Display what you did, rough route. If their was any notably weather conditions, include them! if you know the temperature say that! Don't forget to include how it felt and next time what would you do better?

So there you have it, your perfect diary! Good Luck!
